THE CURSE OF TUTANKHAMEN

People call him King Tut, and he lived in Egypt around 1350 BC The boy king died at the young age of eighteen. His body was at rest for more than 3,000 year in a tomb. In November 1922, the British Egyptologist   Howard Carter discovered his tomb. It still contained many beautiful and valuable objects from the king's time.

Eating in the United States


When people think of food in the United States, they think mostly of fast foods like hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken. In fact, in U.S. cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, there are thousands of different kinds of restaurant with foods from all over the world.

     In 1934, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman. Superman was soon a big success. He was the first comic book hero. Superman was from another planet. The planet's name was Krypton.

New Year's celebrations

     People around the world celebrations the New Year, but they celebrate the holiday on different days. In Europe and America, January 1st starts the New Year. In China, the New Year is in January or February. In Iran, the New  Year is in March, and in Israel, it's in September.
     New Year's celebrations around the world are the same in some ways, but they are different, too. In the United States, people usually go to parties on New Year's Eve. On New Year's Day, many people stay home. They usually watch  sport and parades on TV.

Cancun

Cancun is in Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula. It's on the Caribbean Sea. It is a beautiful modern city. There are many wonderful tourist attractions. There are many hotels on the city's beaches. and there are great night clubs.
